Cloudbusting

Orginal typeface developed to be a phonetically functional and romanized alphabet that is stylistically parallel to Mayans ’ hieroglyphs. After consistent drafting and researching Indigenous ancestry of South America, this project sources from Mayan scriptures, emulating their shapes and forms. Cloudbusting was the named in reference to the hypothetical machine theorized in the late 20th century that was believed to change the weather. As this alphabet was made, I believe it changed the natural state of how design could be perceived in a canon of European typography.
